There, I said it.

Ha! You thought this was one of those posts with all the tips on how to grasp motivation when you need it most. Nope. Not here.

People will ask “how do you stay motivated?” It doesn’t have to be about working out. It can be about meal pre, cleaning, or even staying sober.

“How do you stay motivated?”

Truth is, I don’t. I just do the shit I don’t want to do. Multiple times this week I didn’t feel like going to the gym. This time of year is always stressful. Mentally, physically, and emotionally.

“So how do you stay motivated?”

You literally just do the things. Clean the room, do the laundry, get to the gym, eat the food that makes you feel good. Just do the things.

Don’t wait for the motivation to come. It’s a crock of poop and won’t show up. It’s up to you.

Let’s not confuse inspiration with motivation.

Inspiration comes in many forms. Articles, videos, advertisements, and word of mouth. I even get inspired to do things, but the will to do it is what gets it done.

Lack of motivation is an excuse. It’s mind over matter. Drive. Ambition. You can do this, only if you want to. You have to want it and you have to be doing it for you.

So get to it. Don’t wait for the motivation. It’s not coming.
