Let’s talk about it. So I heard a commercial the other day basically saying that who you vote for is confidential, but whether you voted or not isn’t.

Skuurrrrrtttt!! So now, you (people in advertisement and the government) are essentially peer pressuring people to do what you want them to do. Because society says you should do it, you should. I can’t really just blame these companies because they are created to make money.

Now, I know there are plenty of reasons to vote. And I’m not saying I’m not voting. My point here goes all the way back to our childhood when they said, “If your friend jumps off the bridge, are you going to?”

Society has a way of trying to influence EVERYTHING you do. What you wear, what you brush your teeth with, even what you wipe your butt with. It’s total BS! You are in control of what you do, wear, and say.

If you think that sweater from fashion week is hideous, you can voice your opinion. If you think that fitness standards, are BS, don’t go on that diet. If you have a toxic person in your family, you don’t have to associate with them. You do not have to do something because it is trending. Be different. Be bold. Be unique. Think to yourself, is your life going to be worth living if you are just running around doing what everybody else wants to do? In my opinion, the answer should be no. Unless your life goal is to be a puppet. Which in that case, more power to you, no judgment here. Because, guess what? It doesn’t matter.

I’m just the type of person who feels that you don’t hav to blindly follow trends, people, or ideas. You don’t have to love unconditionally. You don’t have to always have that friend that is so toxic and negative that they bring you down every time you are with them. You don’t have to have a child because that’s what happens after marriage. You don’t have to get married!

If you take nothing else away from this rant, take this. You are lovable, relatable, and beautiful the way you are. You will always have a place here. Even if you don’t agree with what I have said! Comment below and let me know some of the ways you have chosen not to conform.
